THANATOS, 2017, aluminum, epoxy resin, white polyurethane paint. "Thanatos" is part of a larger installation during an artist residency in Berlin. The work tries to capture the Sehnsucht, the spirit of German romanticism, a feeling composed of many parts and closely related to pain. The title chosen, Thanatos, or Tanato, the personification of death, is therefore to be understood as a struggle and a yearning for something unattainable and not a mere simulacrum of misfortune. This work too is based on a 3D scanner and reprocessing through three-dimensional modeling.
